Inclusion Lead – St. James’ Church of England Primary Academy
“The impact of the Goes WILD Education Alternative Provision and Forest School has been remarkable. We have seen a significant reduction in behaviour incidents this term, alongside increased engagement and positive outcomes for the young person. Staff are exceptionally professional, demonstrating the flexibility to adapt sessions around the child’s needs and interests while maintaining close collaboration with school and family. My due diligence visit highlighted the nurturing relationship between mentor and pupil and the highly personalised nature of the support. Together with excellent communication and timely reporting, this has made the provision a valued and trusted partner for our school.”

Parent, Poole
“Before Goes WILD Education came into our lives, our daughter L was struggling in mainstream school, experiencing violent outbursts, absconding and finding everyday school life overwhelming. Choosing alternative provision was one of the best decisions we could have made, and from the moment Hannah came into L’s life, she showed her kindness, patience, understanding and compassion while taking the time to understand her individual needs. Slowly, we’re getting our happy little girl back, and we cannot recommend Goes WILD Education highly enough for helping L rebuild her confidence, safety and emotional wellbeing.”

SENCo – St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School
“Goes WILD Education has had a really positive impact on a child from our Year 3 and 4 cohort. Not only has it helped to build her confidence and emotional regulation, but her engagement in learning has also really improved. Her ability to settle, participate and expand on her overall engagement we believe is due to her reduced timetable and the fulfilment that the activities, places and experiences Goes WILD Education offers. We look forward to continuing working alongside Goes WILD Education both now and in the future.”

Denise Carpenter – Principal, The Stable School
“Matt’s Bushcraft sessions have become an invaluable part of our enrichment offer for SEN pupils across KS2 to KS4. His sessions provide far more than outdoor activities – they create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where our children can connect with nature, build confidence, and experience genuine joy in learning. Matt brings a deep understanding of biophilia, using the natural world as a therapeutic and educational tool. Through activities such as exploring the fire triangle, practising safe fire lighting, creating ‘green man’ clay faces, crafting woodland ‘bling’, building stick men, and taking part in meaningful litter picks, our learners develop practical skills, sensory regulation, and a sense of ownership and responsibility for their environment. These experiences support emotional wellbeing, problem‑solving, creativity, and teamwork. We are incredibly grateful for the expertise, compassion, and creativity Matt brings to our enrichment programme. His contribution is exceptional, and the benefits to our learners are clear, lasting, and deeply meaningful.”

School Governor, Bournemouth
“As a teacher he is approachable, dynamic and engaging, brimming with energy and has an unbounded desire to put children first, especially those with barriers to learning. As a leader in scouts he has been a fundamental and reliable part of a team giving time freely to provide children the opportunity to learn life skills and experience and understand the beauty of natural world around them. Finally, last summer, I was able to help Matt in clearing disused school ground to create an exceptional Forest School space. Even in his spare time he is selflessly looking for ways to teach and improve the lives of our future society.”

Young Person, Bournemouth
“When I go to Forest school, I have fun in a place where I feel safe. It is so amazing having an adult that knows how to help me. Going there has taught me loads more things about the environment. It’s great to know that when I am there, I can just be myself.💎💎💎!”

SEND Lead, Bournemouth
“For the past 5 years, Matt has worked with children with specific barriers to learning that have struggled to thrive in a mainstream classroom setting. Combining his experience as a teacher and his Forest School expertise, he has been able to create a supportive and secure learning environment for these pupils. They are able to improve their self confidence, self esteem and open up their mindset so they can approach new challenges with a can do’ attitude. Matt is empathetic to the needs of his pupils and responds to them with sensitivity and compassion. He is an effective communicator. His positive attitude, ability to praise even the smallest success and willingness to listen without judgement has earn him respect and admiration from all that work with him. Matt builds trusting relationships, making children feel secure, promotes teamwork and encourages them to take risks and problem solve. Matt is a ‘strength spotter’; he helps children recognise their talents but also helps them to deal with their challenges and recognise their triggers so that they are empowered to take ownership of their learning and well-being.”

Parent, Boscombe
“As a parent of a child with SEN, you just want them to thrive in an environment that is designed for them. When my daughter attends Forest School sessions with Matt, she flourishes. She is given the opportunity to be brave, to try new things and to make mistakes without fear of judgement. Being immersed in nature and the outdoors makes her feel at ease and happy’.’

ELSA Lead, Bournemouth
“Matt builds fantastic relationships with children as a trusted adult and teacher, he is empathic and his positive attitude in any situation makes children feel safe and secure while tailoring activities to their needs and interests. His forest school sessions were enjoyed by many children which supported them to stay in a mainstream setting and enjoy outdoor learning.”

Parent, Bournemouth
“Working alongside Matt gives my child the chance to work with someone that understands her needs and ‘gets’ her. His patience and kindness towards her means that she feels able to use her initiative and take risks- something she doesn’t feel emotionally ‘safe’ doing in a mainstream environment. Forest school sessions have taught her so many life skills including, teamwork, resilience and patience. After attending Forest School, she is calmer, regulated and buzzing from having such a good time.”

Founder, Bourne Dyslexia

“Mr Jerrams has had a very positive impact on my child, and I honestly can’t thank him enough. His outdoor sessions are something my child genuinely looks forward to. They are a safe, happy space where my child feels understood, supported, and able to be themselves. Mr Jerrams has a fantastic ability to connect with children who find the classroom environment overwhelming, and his empathy and patience have made all the difference. He truly sees my child, recognises their needs, and responds in such a kind and professional way. His kind, caring, and positive personality shows in everything he does, and his communication with me as a parent has been exceptional. Watching my child grow in confidence and thrive through his sessions has been wonderful, and we feel so lucky to have had Mr Jerrams’ support.”

“To take nature and natural play away from children may be tantamount to withholding oxygen.”
