Learning Through Nature
| Goes WILD Education is an Alternative Education and Forest School Provider based in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole and is a listed Alternative Provision provider on the BCP council framework. We believe that children and young people, especially those with barriers to learning, often learn best outside in nature – where curiosity is sparked by discovery, creativity flows freely, and questions are welcomed. In nature, teamwork happens naturally, practical life skills are lived rather than lectured, movement isn’t restricted, and confidence and resilience grow with every challenge overcome. In nature, children and young people have the space to breathe, to explore, to belong and to develop at their own pace. That’s where real progress happens. |
Power of Nature
| Research shows that being in nature helps reduce stress, lowers cortisol (our main stress hormone), and boosts feel-good brain chemicals like serotonin and dopamine. That’s why we use the power of nature to help support, heal and educate our children and young people. ‘‘I go to nature to be soothed and healed and have my senses put in order” – John Burroughs |
“Children cannot bounce off the walls if we take away the wallS.”
– Erin Kenny
